Structure-properties relationships in triarylamine-based donor-acceptor molecules containing naphtyl groups as donor material for organic solar cells
The effects of replacing the phenyl rings of triphenylamine (TPA) by naphtyl groups are analysed on a series of push-pull molecules containing a 2-thienyl-dicyanovinyl acceptor group. UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry show that the introduction of one or two naphtyl groups in the structure has limited effects on the optical properties and energy levels of the molecule. On th...
متن کاملHigh‐Performance Non‐Fullerene Organic Solar Cells Based on a Selenium‐Containing Polymer Donor and a Twisted Perylene Bisimide Acceptor
A novel polymer donor (PBDTS-Se) is designed to match with a non-fullerene acceptor (SdiPBI-S). The corresponding solar cells show a high efficiency of 8.22%, which result from synergetic improvements of light harvesting, charge carrier transport and collection, and morphology. The results indicate that rational design of novel donor materials is important for non-fullerene organic solar cells.

To shed light on intramolecular charge-transfer phenomena in 1,2,3-triazole-linked materials, a series of 1,2,3-triazole-linked push-pull chromophores were prepared and studied experimentally and computationally. Investigated modifications include variation of donor and/or acceptor strength and linker moiety as well as regioisomers. Photophysical characterization of intramolecular charge-transf...
متن کاملDynamic Monte Carlo modeling of exciton dissociation in organic donor-acceptor solar cells.
A general dynamic Monte Carlo model for exciton dissociation at a donor-acceptor interface that includes exciton delocalization and hot charge separation is developed to model the experimental behavior observed for the poly(3-hexylthiophene):fullerene system and predict the theoretical performance of future materials systems. The presence of delocalized excitons and the direct formation of sepa...
متن کاملRoles of Energy/Charge Cascades and Intermixed Layers at Donor/Acceptor Interfaces in Organic Solar Cells
The secret to the success of mixed bulk heterojunctions (BHJs) in yielding highly efficient organic solar cells (OSCs) could reside in the molecular structures at their donor/acceptor (D/A) interfaces. In this study, we aimed to determine the effects of energy and charge cascade structures at the interfaces by using well-defined planar heterojunctions (PHJs) as a model system. The results showe...
